2nd Feb:            ….” The Secretary reported that Nurse Mrs. Farrell had been guilty of misconduct and had left the institution on Sunday 29th.inst in consequence, and further he had employed Mrs. Tomlins to replace Mrs. Farrell at same wages,”…

9th Feb:             ….” Snr Nurse Tomlins having been reported guilty of misconduct, her services were ordered to be dispensed with at expiration of current week and Mrs. Farrell, under promise of future good conduct was reinstated.

21st Sept:          ….” Two Nurses, Mrs. Farrell and Bridget Murray, were reported by the Matron as having been found intoxicated and incapable, in consequence, of attending to their duties. Resolved that Mrs. Farrell’s case be reserved for consideration at the end of the Month. B Murray having been reprimanded and cautioned was allowed to resume her duties.

Resolved that an Advertisement be inserted twice in the “Courier” and the “Queensland Times” for a competent nurse.”…

28th Sept:          ….”Mrs. Farrell’s case having been considered, it was resolved that her services be discontinued and that Catherine Ryan be engaged as Nurse in her place, on trial for a fortnight. The Salary being at the rate of £35.0.0 per Annum”

16th Nov:           …”Resolved that nurse Catherine Ryan be discharged, according to the terms of agreement.

Resolved that a General Servant be engaged to perform work required in the Hospital.

Resolved that it be the Chief Duty of one of the nurses to attend to female patients.

Resolved that Mrs. Farrell be reengaged as nurse”…

26th Nov:           ….” The nurse Catherine Ryan received a cheque for £8.0.6 being for services rendered in the Hospital to this date and one Month’s pay in lieu of a Month’s Notice.

Mrs. Farrell was reengaged as Nurse”…

21st Dec:            ….” Resolved… that Mrs. Hoy be appointed Nurse in the Female Ward, it being her special duty to exercise a kind, firm, vigilant care for these said patients and to report instantly any case of irregularity or misconduct to the Matron or House Surgeon. Mrs. Hoy to be subject to the control of the Matron, like the other nurses, and her Salary to be at the rate of £30.0.0 per Annum”…
