The museum is staffed by volunteers under the auspices of the Ipswich Hospital Foundation. The volunteers come from all walks of life and bring many skills and experiences to their roles. Some are former nurses, others are former staff members, while others bring a wealth of life experience.
Friends of the Ipswich Hospital Museum also have a deep connection but maybe not the time or proximity to volunteer regularly. All have an interest in helping to preserve the history of Ipswich Hospital – its staff, buildings and stories.
Contact us to become a volunteer or Friend of the Museum.
As a Volunteer you can be involved in meeting visitors to the museum, helping to prepare for exhibitions and events, research, general administrative tasks, transcribing, designing flyers and leaflets, working on the quarterly newsletter, IT and communication and cataloguing the museum’s collection.
As a Friend of the Ipswich Hospital Museum you will receive invitations to all our functions, open days, and our annual museum get-together; be an ambassador and spread the word about the role and activities of the museum in the community; receive our quarterly newsletter ‘Museum Matters’; follow us on ‘Friends of the Ipswich Hospital Museum’ Facebook page; support the museum at functions and help when and if you are able; share your connection with and stories of the history of the Ipswich Hospital and Ipswich.
